Fincar 5mg Pills are used in the treatment of BPH or enlarged Prostate, by shrinking the Prostate and reducing the risk of urinary retention due to restricted urine flow because of enlarged prostate.  It decreases the chances of surgery.

It can also be used to treat Male Pattern Baldness (Alopecia). By increasing the growth of hair on the scalp area and prevent further hair-loss from the scalp area. It cannot restore all hair which were lost quite earlier but it tends to reverse the balding in men. Fincar 5mg cannot be used by women to treat their hair-loss.

How does the medication work?

The medication contains Finasteride in the strength of 5mg which has an enzyme 5α-reductase  which converts the male hormone testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), an androgen responsible for growth of prostate gland. Fincar Pill acts by reducing the level of DHT in the blood and hence stops the growth of prostate. This androgen also causes the hair-loss and Fincar 5mg by its action, it blocks DHT and promotes as well as enhances the hair growth.

I missed my dose:

If you missed your dose and realised about it, then take it soon. If you realised that its now time for the next dose then don’t overdose. It is not recommended to take double dose, follow your doctor’s prescription only.
